STROKE OF GENIUS

Project Location: Buckeye, Arizona

With incredible views of downtown Phoenix, this fantastic home at the edge of The Victory Golf Course in Verrado has it all.   In a design departure from the clients previous Tuscan styled home in Southern California, our designers took a more modern twist combining a soft southwest palette with a touch of industrial charm.  The living room boasts the use of custom wallpaper with unique shadow boxes on the fireplace wall; these elements provide a one of a kind change from traditional stacked stone.  Using the kitchen backsplash wall to its fullest advantage in the room, hand forged turnbuckle floating shelf supports and strip lighting bring depth to the textured tile.  Décor elements and the clients unique serving ware add to the visual impact of this open concept floor plan.

With entertaining in mind, the bar area design incorporates adequate storage and display of favorite libations.  Highly reflective tile add depth and a soft glow to the bar walls – referencing but not overstating the industrial tone used in the kitchen. Off the main social space the clients retreat to a cool mix of lovely textiles and soft tones in their primary suite.

More of the industrial feel was used in the guest powder room, with highly textured tile, unique lighting and wall paper to set it all off.  A fantastic reference to the southwest through the Taos Pueblo photo ties it all together with the design strategy.
